Against Fire Hazards
A fire at your Home, Office or Business means the loss of not only personal property, but in the case of business owners, the loss of productivity and ultimately profits.
These simple hints can help you reduce your risk from fire hazards.
HOME
Keep heaters away from curtains and flammable materials.
Never overload your electrical power points.
Don’t dim lamps by covering them, use a low wattage bulb.
OFFICE
Switch off electrical appliances when not in use, particularly
computer monitors.
Don’t overload power points.
If you need an extension cord, use one long one, don’t
join a number of short one together.
WORKPLACE
Don’t run electrical flex under carpet or linoleum, it may
become damaged without being noticed.
Do not clutter up areas with rubbish such as oily rags and
do not store oily rags in containers.
Use properly installed sockets for electrical equipment.
